Fully Used Up

Psychologists say that we only use 10% of our brain.
Our brain is not the only thing we don't fully use.

I sat writing.
I had been writing for hours.
I was signing one of my books.

"I know your hand must be hurting," one of the ladies helping to
pack the books said. I had no pain or strain in my hand.
It was an absolute pleasure as the ink flowed like blue milk.
It did not feel like work; it felt like an impartation.
I knew each reader would be blessed by the book.

So what does that have to with fully utilizing your brain?

My new pen ran out of ink, that's what it has to do with it.

I buy pens by the dozen. I lose them. I misplace them.
I leave them at various places. I go through pens like others
go through tissue paper.

For the first time in my life, I fully used a pen.
I ran a pen dry,

...until it sputtered.

It was a terrific Moment.

I sat thinking as my pen sputtered and refused to write,
"How many more things do I have that I have never fully used?"

Although I have done much with what I have been given, I could
have done so much more, if only I had fully utilized it.
If only I had used the pen of life until it sputtered.

How many books can you sign with one pen?

I signed 1,510 books before my first pen gave out.
On book 1,511 the blue river of ink turned into a white scratch.

How many under-utilized, thrown away, and lost pens do you have?
How much time, love, energy, thought, money, and unworn and
unseen items do you have that you have never fully utilized?

Upon how many hearts and minds can you write if you just fully
use what you have?

If you used it until it sputtered.
